Residential systems can count on a quite swift procedure with minor and relatively few barriers in the installation process, as it takes between 2 and 4 weeks to complete the whole process.

Application for finance

Banks, Building Society's and other lenders all provide loans or mortgage extensions for home improvements which would include the installation of a solar PV system. The loan provider will score the applicants credit worthiness and either a) offer the full amount applied for, b) offer part of the amount, c) refuse the loan. A refusal by one loan provider does not necessarily mean another provider will do the same. If the property is rented or leased, some lenders may refuse to offer a loan or stipulate additional conditions.
